Here are some of the
most common
issues with the current assigning system and how Buffalo Hockey Referees,
Inc. is addressing them.
- "No officials showed up for our game!"
With the assigning system that Buffalo Hockey Referees uses, team
managers can check online to see which officials have been assigned to
officiate their games. This convenient online access will allow any issues
to be immediately addressed.
- "Only 1 official showed up for our game!"
Usually when this happens, the official went to the wrong
rink. We will resolve this problem in two ways:
- Our assigning system is
online and the official does not need to write anything down as the
schedule can be easily printed out.
- All officials will know
who their partner is when they get their assignment. They will also be in
possession of all of the officials' contact numbers so they can contact
their partners via phone from the rink.
Occasionally referees forget when they have games. As a
reminder, our system sends out emails to our officials for the games they
are scheduled to work.
- "This one official seems out to get us!"
Buffalo Hockey Referees would like to believe that no ref
is deliberately determined to make a team lose, but sometimes there might be
some sort of bias. (Ex: son/daughter is on team or coaches the team).
With our advanced assigning system, we can prevent officials from
officiating certain teams.
- "We always get the same officials."
Our advanced assigning system tracks teams both home and
away, allowing us to set limits how often a referee officiates the same
team.
- "I have made legitimate complaints about officials but
it seems to have fall on deaf ears."
Buffalo Hockey Referees will take all issues seriously. We will work
with teams, leagues and organizations to deal with any problems that arise.
We know that you take your league seriously, and we take our officiating
seriously.
- "There are times that I do not think I am being billed
properly."
With our online system you will be able to verify exactly
what you are being billed for, and you can review it at your convenience.
